How To Be a '40s Pin-Up
Bettina May gives us some great tips in this 2 hour instruction DVD, on how to look like old time movie star, a burlesque queen, or just inspire you to perk up your 21st century look. The longest segments are on hair styles, using Medianoche as a model for short hair (she looks fabulous in her head full of curls) and Hazel for the longer styles. All these entail using rollers and Bettina shows us the different kinds, including the hot ones. Rollers have come a long way since the little torture implements made out of wiry spikes when I was young (and we slept in them!), and these versions look positively friendly, and give you wonderful ringlets and curls.
Brett is the model for makeup, and this section is excellent. A good suggestion for the brushes which I will do immediately, and I love the "finger in the mouth" tip (you'll have to watch the DVD to find out girls!). Sake is the brave woman who demonstrates undergarments, and she looks like a million when finished and...
Bettina May does it again
While it must be admitted that I prefer hers and Go-Go-Amy's "How to be a Pinup Model," this video covers a LOT of ground, including sexy vintage underwear, admirably. As always, Bettina May's charm and class come across in her narration. I *love* how she uses models of all body types and looks. Rest assured: those of us who aren't as pretty as Bettina May get plenty of screen time, and she makes us look wonderful! I think the makeup section in this is even better than Pinup Model. She uses several models for the hair looks, so those of us with varying hair types and lengths can take advantage of her tips. Note to reader: I would buy both this one and the Pinup Model DVD. Put these together and you have a comprehensive course on everything from posing (Pinup Model gives different poses from those in this DVD featuring the luscious Sake Fevah) to doing your hair "as grandma did" (or in my case, as mom did). Get this,...
Why not..
A few modelling poses , 2 hair styles and one basic makeup technique... not much stuff but I enjoyed the dvd anyways! so I say, why not... but if i knew about this before I personally wouldn't order it.
